wellness infusions

Boost your health and wellness with these infusions made from herbal teas. Teas are a great addition to your nutrition routine and will help you stay hydrated while boosting your intake of phytonutrients and antioxidants. They can be drunk hot or cold. If drinking cold, then we recommend placing the tonic in the fridge rather than adding ice cubes to the tonic (as the ice cubes will water it down). If you have a hard time drinking water or are looking for something new to add to your hydration regime, then look no further.

Immunity Boosting Infusion

Ginger and lemon help boost your immune system while chamomile is known for its soothing qualities. A great infusion to drink prior to bed.

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 4 cups boiling water

  • 6 bags chamomile tea

  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger

  • 4 slices lemon

  • 2-4 teaspoons honey

  • 2 sprigs rosemary, lightly bruised

Creating the Magic!

Stir boiling water, tea bags, ginger, lemon, honey and rosemary together in large heatproof bowl. Steep, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes. Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on the tea bags to get as much liquid out as possible. Refrigerate for up to 3 days. Enjoy hot or cold.

Green Tea and Lemon Infusion

Green tea may help reduce the risk of cancer as well as helping to regulate blood sugar levels. Lemon helps boost the immune system as they are rich in vitamin C. Green tea is caffeinated so we recommend drinking this tonic earlier in the day.

Serves 5

Ingredients

  • 6 cups water

  • Lemon peel strips from 1 lemon (I used a vegetable peeler)

  • 3 green tea bags

  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup

  • 5 lemon slices

Creating the Magic!

Bring the water, lemon strips and ginger to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove lemon and ginger.

Place tea bags in a teapot and immediately add simmering lemon-infused water. Cover and let steep 1 to 3 minutes. Remove tea bags, squeezing gently.

Serve immediately. If desired, sweeten to taste with honey or maple syrup. Serve with lemon slices.

If serving cold, place infusion in the fridge and enjoy cold.
