Me enjoying a sunshine smoothie surrounded by snow!

Staying healthy is on everyone’s minds right now given the current world situation. Vitamin C, ginger and cayenne are three foods that boost our immunity. The lemon and ginger make this smoothie tangy while the cayenne pepper adds a nice kick. Fresh oranges can be replaced by store bought orange juice. I make a batch and keep it in the fridge for a couple of days.

Sunshine Immunity Smoothie by Angela Liddon

2 medium seedless naval oranges, peeled

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, or to taste

1 teaspoon grated peeled fresh ginger or to taste

1 to 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup, to taste

3 to 5 ice cubes

Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Creating the Magic!

In a high-speed blender, combine of all of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Drink and enjoy. Sprinkle with cayenne pepper to taste! If you don’t like the pulp then feel free to put through a sieve before drinking. Or you could opt to juice everything if you have a juicer.
